FYI, back in the 90’s I purchased a RE/MAX franchise with 20 agents from two brokers that owned and operated the franchise together. Back then less than 30% of RE/MAX franchises were profitable on their own merit (as a business), so both owners were actively helping clients buy and sell homes to make a living. While both made a living, one always went on great vacations with his wife, the other always talked about buying an RV and going on vacation, but never did until later on in life when his health was failing. The light in my head went on right away as I was watched these two gentlemen go about their business. The difference afforded a higher standard of living for one and not the other, as he had real estate holdings working for him.
